IT Project Manager
Location: Fresno, California (Hybrid/Flexible options considered)

Cyber Professor is immediately seeking an unpaid, volunteer, and highly motivated IT Project Manager to lead the planning, execution, and delivery of various technology initiatives critical to our mission. This role will be instrumental in ensuring the successful implementation of educational platforms, internal IT infrastructure improvements, community program support systems, and other technology-driven projects. The ideal candidate will be adept at managing cross-functional teams, communicating with diverse stakeholders, and delivering projects on time and within scope in a resource-conscious nonprofit environment.
Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Definition
Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with senior leadership and stakeholders.
Develop detailed project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and budget estimates.
Identify and secure necessary resources (human, financial, technological) for project execution.
Project Execution & Management
Lead and motivate project teams, including internal staff, volunteers, and interns.
Oversee project tasks, ensuring adherence to quality standards and deadlines.
Manage project budgets, tracking expenditures and ensuring cost-effectiveness.
Facilitate efficient communication and collaboration among all project participants.
Monitoring, Control & Reporting
Track project progress, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies.
Regularly report project status, challenges, and successes to stakeholders and leadership.
Implement change management processes when project scope or requirements evolve.
Ensure proper documentation of all project phases, decisions, and outcomes.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
Serve as the primary point of contact for project-related communications.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external partners, and vendors.
Manage vendor selection, contracts, and performance as needed for IT solutions.
Process Improvement & Innovation
Identify opportunities to improve project management methodologies and IT processes within the organization.
Stay informed about emerging IT trends and technologies relevant to cybersecurity education and nonprofit operations.
Mission Alignment
Ensure all IT projects directly support Cyber Professor's mission and strategic objectives.
Prioritize projects based on organizational impact and resource availability.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree preferred
Experience
Minimum of 1-2 years of progressive experience in IT project management.
Work performed within an education, government, or nonprofit setting preferred.
Demonstrated success in managing multiple projects simultaneously from initiation to closure.
Equivalent work experience may be considered.
Technical Acumen
Solid understanding of IT infrastructure, network concepts, software development lifecycles, and cloud services.
Familiarity with cybersecurity principles and best practices is highly desirable.
Experience with common project management software (e.g., Asana, Trello, Jira, Microsoft Project).
Project Management Skills
Proficiency in various project management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Scrum, Waterfall).
PMP, CAPM, CSM, or other relevant project management certifications are a significant plus.
Excellent organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
